Motorbiking is a fun and interesting hobby. Although many people think that using a motorbike, or motorcycle is dangerous, it is a relatively safe hobby as long as proper safety measures are followed such as motorbike insurance. For instance, it is always important to wear a helmet and to drive defensively. One of the advantages of using a motorbike is the increased fuel economy relative to a car.

Since motorbikes have a much smaller mass, the amount of fuel they use is substantially less than the amount of fuel that a car would use. In recent years, the use of motorcycles has increased, as higher fuel prices lead people to search for alternative means of transportation. Additionally, riding a motorbike can decrease congestion in urban areas. There are also several subcultures which have formed around the use of motorcycles.

Some motorcycle clubs are organized formally, such as the American Motorcyclist Association and the Harley Owners Group. However, motorcyclists in general are often referred to as ‘bikers’ and due to the camaraderie of sharing a similar hobby a sub-culture is formed.
